first quarter 20th century
the scrolled top rails with drop-in leather backs and seats on shell carved cabriole front legs with pad feet
Condition Report Country House condition. The walnut frames with variation to colour. This is a result, in part, of the painted treatment when they were made. The paint was intended to simulate and enhance the walnut figuring. The leather of a pleasingly aged appearance but scuffed. Some joins, notably to legs and arms are loose (to the front trail of one in particular). The drop in seats over new oak strengthening blocks. Old marks, scuffs and scratches and rubbing to raised detail and surface polish. Very minor historic worm damage to some. Metal pads to feet.
