the lower part of the body decorated with cut-card foliage with beaded stems and engraved with leaves, engraved above with two coats-of-arms in baroque cartouche, beaded scroll handles engraved with leaves at the junctions with the cup, the cover with similar cut-card work, engraved with a crest

Condition Report Once entirely silver-gilt, the gilding is now worn completely around one coat-of-arms, in the centre of the other coat-of-arms and around the crest on the cover all due to erasures. Cover: the final lacking nut, some dents to the inner rim and one to the exterior, the inner rim with Britannia mark and maker's mark, later crest Cup: generally with some light wear to decoration and gilding at highlights, evidence of old erasures in and around the coat-of-arms, the engraved cartouche surrounds appear to be original, some scratches and dents commensurate with age, fully marked on body, marks good and clear, the underside engraved '4338' and 'No. 51'
