Description A Louis XVI style giltwood side chair
late 19th century
the ribbon tied wreath crest over a padded back and bowed seat, with a fluted frame
2ft 2in high, 2ft wide
Condition Report 75cm. high to cresting 59cm. wide seat 50cm depth of seat. Lovely quality in overall reasonable condition. Rubbing and some chips to gilded surface notably to extremities, some minor chips to carved detail. Upright to back rest lacking one applied rosette. Some staining to upholstered seat. Some movement to carcass which has caused splits to gilded surface and there has been so remedial work to these sites including re-touching. Would benefit from recovering subject to taste.
