Description A Louis XVI style carved giltwood child's bergere
19th century
with floral and berry carved frame with scrolled arms and upholstered in floral patterned silk, on leaf carved and fluted legs?together with a similar larger Louis XVI style carved giltwood and upholstered bergere, 19th century, covered in striped silk, with fluted tapering front legs (2)
Condition Report Both chairs in country house condition. Chipping and losses to gilding. Upholstery of the smaller generally good. Rubbing of gilding on raised details. Movement to carcass but solid with construction separation to cresting of the smaller. Striped silk of larger torn and with stuffing visible. The larger of the two has more wear and losses to gilding. Very decorative.
