Description Emerald and synthetic ruby brooch
1930s
of Indian temple design, set with cabochon emeralds and calibré-cut emeralds and synthetic rubies,?with a carved emerald elephant in the centre
Condition Report Unsigned. Areas of solder throughout reverse, particularly around panel behind the elephant - at the top corners the lead solder has come unstuck and panel is loose, although still connected to the brooch at the bottom corners. Emerald forming temple roof in closed setting, possibly foiled. Elephant also in closed setting. Some light surface wear to stones. Dimensions approximately 44 x 34mm, gross weight approximately 25.5 grams. Condition commensurate with age and wear.
