Servero Zavaleta is known for his paintings of Native Americans and animals that utilize color to integrate the subject with their environment. He was born in Bolivia in 1932, and studied art at Andres University in La Paz, and under notable South American artists including Rimsa and Solon Romero of Bolivia and Jaime Carvalho of Rio de Janeiro. Zavaleta work is widely collected, and has been exhibited in Bolivia and Argentina, including an important commission for the University of Rio de Janeiro.
