Description Shallow with rounded sides and an everted lip, covered overall with a yellow glaze. Yanqing lou zhi (made for the building for endearing celebration) seal mark to the base. Chips. Box. The seal mark "Yanqing lou zhi" is the hall mark of General Cao Kun (1862-1938) he lived in Zhongnanhai. The Yanqing building is located in Beijing in Zhongnanhai west of the Imperial Palace behind the Jurentang (where Yuan Shikai, 1859-1916, resided as the first president). Cao Kun was a military leader from Tianjin who was favoured by Yuan Shikai (1859-1916) in the early years of Republic of China. The porcelain for the Yanqing Building was made for a short period of time, in 1923-1924, when he was the fifth President of the Republic of China.
