Of circular section, the deep rounded sides rising from a short straight foot to an everted rim, decorated in shades of underglaze blue, painted to the exterior with panels depicting two courtly scenes, divided by two wide panels each with four lines of calligraphy, the flattened rim with four quatrefoil cartouches containing flowers reserved against a dense diaper pattern ground, the inner rim similarly decorated, the well painted with a roundel depicting three boys playing, the glazed base with the six-character mark of Chenghua within a double circle in underglaze blue. Period: Kangxi (1662-1722). Diameter: 21.5 cm.
