Description Tekke mafrash/kap, Turkmenistan, first half 19th century. Robert Pinner wrote that this piece contains a tree with birds and amulets around a central ashik blossom. The Marsh Collection has several examples of this type from early to late 19th century. This is one of the earliest with a mellow patina, fine weave and velvety pile.
