A rare Agate Snuff Bottle, Qing Dynasty 18th/19th c., probably Suzhou workshop of squarish flattened flask form, with shoulders sloping up to a wide cylindrical neck, carved in a honey colored chalcedony, using a cameo technique the deeper amber tones cleverly form a monkey under a tree with a bee, resting on a strong bold oval foot rim with a well polished and recessed interior. Stopper formed from a halved jadeite bead with cork and spoon mounted. 2 1/4" h. 5.6 cm [Excluding stopper].
