A Bronze Buddha Riding A Deer, 18th - 19th Century. This small figure of a bronze Buddha riding a deer is entirely gilt apart from the Buddha's blue headdress and the deer's red mouth. The Buddha has ornate jewelry and a simple robe. The Buddha is displaying the mudra of the wheel of law with the left hand and the mudra to expel demons with the right. Dimensions are approximately 3 5/8 inches high by 3 inches long by 1 3/8 inches wide. Condition: It is in good condition. Provenance: From a Boston estate.
