Flying Mercury spelter figure after Giovanni Bologna, depicts Mercury holding a sword in one hand and the pendulum suspension post up in the other, stands on a putti face over a round plinth with repousse figures of winged putti playing instruments, marble base with gilt claw feet, 28.5 in. high. The 27 in. long pendulum swings on an "X" suspension with 3.5 in. porcelain dial signed "Tiffany & Co., NY", long steel pendulum rod with thermometer in the center and beveled glass bob below; round brass spring driven time only movement contained within the top tub is signed with "GLT" mark for Guilmet, numbered 194, in nice condition and running. 33.5 in. high.
