Height: 16.6 cm Width: 10.2 cm This handsome Ottoman Qur'an, complete and written on pink paper, has a richly illuminated opening bi-folio with gold and polychrome floral decoration. The text, spread over fifteen lines per page, is framed in gold. The separations of the verses are represented by gold rosettes. The titles of the suras are inscribed in polychrome illuminated cartouches. The colophon indicates that it was copied by Muhammad Ibn Muhammad ibn Isma'?l and dated to the beginning of the month of Ramadan in the year 1238 (mid-May 1823).
