, Kangxi period, ca. 1700, China, A superb lidded vase, with a wide fluted band containing four roundels each decorated with a scene of a standing lady admiring a vase with flowers. Along the top and base as well as the lid are decorated with florals. Marked with a four character apocryphal Chenghua mark but made during the Kangxi period. H 22.5 cm, For a similar jar see Chinese ceramics in the collection of the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam (the Ming and Qing dynasties) by Christiaan J.A. J?rg in collaboration with Jan van Campen, 1997, page 110. The lid possibly a replacement. Two small lines visible on the inside near to the top but do not go through to the outside. A few tiny fleabites to the sharp top edge. No other damage and no restoration.
