Norfolk military interest:- a Victorian silver presentation trowel by Charles Hart, London, 1865, the ebonised handle with upper and lower mounts in the form of coronets, the blade inscribed "This trowel was used on the occasion of laying the Foundation Stone of the Drill Hall, Armoury & Store House, of the 1st. Norfolk Rifle Volunteers, by Mrs. Nichols, wife of W. P. Nichols Esqr., Mayor of Norwich. On Her Majesty's birthday, 1866. And presented to her by the Battalion." 38.7 cm. long.
Good condition, the odd minor surface scratch to blade which is solid, not whippy. Marked on back of blade but not on handle mounts.
