An unusual Old Sheffield Plate egg coddler, circa 1815, of rounded bellied oblong form with shell and scroll handles, twin domed covers opening to reveal a cruet frame to hold six eggs, the top of the frame handle forming a ball finial, rim of tongue motifs above a ribbed band, the warming stand on four wirework supports centred by a detachable spirit lamp.
Overall good condition apart from a lead repair to foot rim where foot rim joins body and must have come away or split.
