The instrument is carved with one wedge-shaped working side and a tapering end with an aperture for suspension. The two sides are carved with the characters 'qian' and 'lei'.
Catalogue notes: Similar tools can be found in the National Palace Museum in Taiwan, one of similar colouring but with incised decoration can be found in the collection, accession number 000685N000000000.
Condition: a few polished areas on the blade edge and the faces; cutting line by the aperture on both sides visible.
