The set comprises a teapot, a two-handled sugar bowl and cover, and a milk jug. Each piece is fashioned with finely-modelled dragon handles with coiled beards and chased scales. The teapot with a dragon handle with ivory insulators and a dragon-head spout, each piece is decorated in repoussé with narrative scenes from the epic tale, The Water Margin. The domed covers are similarly decorated and surmounted by a coiled dragon amongst clouds. Each vessels stands on four floral and acanthus feet. Each piece is marked 'WH', '90', the silversmith's mark 'Heng you', and a European 'J' mark.
Condition: the teapot - the lower pin of the handle has been reaffixed; all in overall good condition with minor nicks and dents as expected.
