The porcelain is decorated with shaped panels enclosing narrative scenes alternating with panels enclosing birds and trees around a central bird cartouche on a patterned ground. The edge is surrounded by a band of flowers with further bird cartouches. The wood frame is carved with flowers and acanthus leaves above an openwork squirrel and grapes frieze, the stem of the table is carved with an openwork dragon, all supported on claw and ball feet emanating from beast heads.
Catalogue note: a similar circular table inset with a famille rose panel was sold at Christie's South Kensington, 9 November 2011, lot 612, and a slightly larger table (71.1 cm. diameter) was sold at Christie's South Kensington, 11 May 2016, lot 358.
Condition: the panel with chips to the edge, wear to the enamels; the wood with surface wear as expected; in good working condition.
