All of circular form and decorated in shades of underglaze blue, comprising: a pair painted to the centre with two robed ladies at repose in a terraced garden accompanied by a child at play, the wide rim decorated with cartouches, each containing a different scene, including a rider on horseback with an attendant on foot, a scholar seated in a terraced garden with an attendant, alternating with thin sprigs of flowering plants, one dish with a scaly, four-clawed dragon above the crashing waves a leaping carp below, the rim further decorated with crashing waves, and another similar together with one of ladies conversing on a terrace, two with a child on a terrace surrounded by auspicious emblems, two with a flower basket and further decorated in iron red, some with Chenghua marks. Period: Kangxi (1662-1722). Diameter: 16.5?27 cm.
