Of tall inverted baluster form with folded foliate rim, the tall sides rising from a circular base, the shoulder set with raised gilt sinewy chilong, the body brightly enamelled with panels enclosing figurative scenes of officials and attendants at court, one predominantly populated by ladies, each panel framed by a border of bats bearing chimes and key-fret pattern, with further smaller panels enclosing figures in an outdoor setting, all reserved on a white ground with fruit, flowers and insect motifs, the neck with further figurative scenes and flanked with a pair of highly unusual handles in the form of inverted cranes with brightly coloured plumage, the foot and everted mouth similarly decorated with flowers and butterflies on a gilt ground, the base glazed. Period: 19th century. Height: 62 cm.
