Of square form, the tall sides rising from a square base supported on a circular footring, the short neck sloping upwards from the square shoulder, finely decorated in bright famille rose enamels, each side with a different landscape scene; one side with four ladies beside a river, one casting a fishing net, and one fanning another, four lines of calligraphy and three seals; another side with a busy scene of hay threshing with women, children and men at work, a hen flanked by chicks standing by, and a child rides a buffalo in the background and above a Qianlong seal; the third side depicting four robed ladies standing beside a river; the fourth side depicting a further watery landscape with a lady emerging from a thatched house, a child and man, and two more figures in the distance, while a pair of geese float in the river; all below a band of pendant ruyi to the shoulder, the neck intricately painted with lotus scroll and auspicious objects, this pattern repeated around the foot, a further pendant ruyi band below the rim, the rim gilt, the base in a turquoise glaze and with the square seal mark of Qianlong in underglaze blue. Period: 20th century. Height: 34.5 cm.
