The tall sides rising from a flat circular base, the tall waisted neck with everted rim, the shoulder set with a pair of animal mask and loop handles, decorated in bright famille rose enamels, the body with two large square panels, one containing a lively scene of warriors charging on horseback, some bearing banners, others shields or fans, all in a rocky landscape, the other enclosing a courtly scene of officials, scholars, warriors and attendants gathered in a pavilion, two further square panels to the neck, one containing an elderly official with an attendant and warrior, the other containing an official flanked by two ladies, all reserved against a bright turquoise ground of dense lotus scroll, a band of upright lappets around the foot and pendant ruyi-heads around the mouth rim, the base glazed. Period: 19th century. Height: 45 cm.
