Ivory, delicately carved and partly darkly accentuated. Verso a beautiful golden-yellow patina. Sennin Chokwar? cheerfully laughing with slighty elongated head, standing in a belted garb made of leaves and knotted staff with a gourd hanging from it. Holding a Jui-sceptre in his right hand, with a hossu (fly swatter) attached to his belt on the back. H.10.5cm. Condition A/B. Old crack in the gourd, traces of former attachment on the base.
