Ivory - two part, in high, very delicately engraved and darkly accentuated relief, in front of hatched ground outlined with sumi stands the Queen Mother of the West, Sei?bo. Wearing a rich dress and surrounded with the band of 'Heavenly Grandeur' she holds a scroll in her right hand. Behind her slightly to the side, a standing maid holds a large basket with three peaches. On the backside finely engraved blooming cherry branches. ? 4.9cm. Signed: Suzuki Kosai & Kakihan, cf. MCI p. 390, depicting a Manj? in similar style, moreover very different Kakihan. Condition A/B. Edge chipped on the inside.
