Ivory, as is the bowl, brown stained to give the impression of wood. Very delicately and meticulously carved. The very delicately and subtly stained portrait of Sei?bo, the Chinese queen of fairies, depicts her with a phoenix amid flower decorations in her usual rich headdress, a fan in her right hand, its sheet decorated with malachite and mother-of-pearl. The red-brown stained bowl, suggesting wood, displays three peaches on its bottom side as symbols of long life. ? 5cm. Signed: Ryukosai & seal of red lacquer: Jugyoku, on the bottom on a little Chinese bag in red lacquer. Condition B/C. The so-called bowl torn.
