Six-part, separate cord runners, Shibuichi lacquer inside Nashiji. In very delicate lacquer painting in green, gold and red with silver and black, a young mother in an elaborate Kimono, infant son in her arms, chasing a butterfly with a fan, on verso a young girl trying to do the same with her bare hands. The ground partially indicated by large-leaved grass. H.9.4cm. Signed: Jokasai, cf. Wra. p. 98-99, among the many artists of this name there is one who presumably still worked in the 18th century.
