Roiro, the edges lacquered grey, as to suggest the usual metal reinforcements. Base: Roiro, on the lid in strong relief of metal, suggesting old bronze, a boat, loaded with various seashells, due to glazed ceramics these appear strikingly real, the stem covered in Kinji, as are the waves the boat is passing over. In between the waves are rocks of malachite with sea-shells and algae of glazed ceramic. Behind the boat stands a paddle of dark Sentoku and a flock of four gold and silver lacquered Chidori and one of Aogai flying over the tip of the boat. Inside matt Roiro. 29 x 36.5 x 15cm.
