Ivory. Two fighting men, presumably the Soga brothers, one with a bow, the other with a long stick in his right hand. The figures are very delicately carved from ivory and engraved. With partly darkly stained details, his robes presumably of wood, entirely covered in very fine Kinji and green lacquer with delicate flower pattern in gold Hiramakie. H. ca. 17.5cm, W.30cm. Condition C. Supplement: Root plinth, added later. One hand restored and damaged from use.
