Late Qing/Republic period
The first a garment buckle comprised of two fitted halves reticulated
in thin ovoid section in motifs of figures and scroll work, of calcified
mottled oatmeal tinged in yellowish hue; the second thinly reticulated
in circular section to depict perhaps the Hehe twins, the stone
buff gray color striated in thin veins of darker brown; the third of
rectangular shape consisting of a leaf carved in raised relief with
the character xi and prunus blossoms surrounded by reticulated
bats, the stone of gray hue tinged in darker russet around the
periphery; the third of thin circular section reticulated to depict a
chime surrounded by vines and zoomorphic motifs of calcified buff
color with large patches of burnt umber and striated in thin veins of
gray; the fifth of thinly sectioned prolate spheroid shape reticulated to
depict a chime and a bat, mostly grayish white with a patch of russet
inclusions.
