Qianlong mark, Republic period
Molded with a rolled rim to the waisted neck and angular profile
to the body, depicting the Tang emperor Xuanzong (685-762)
Ming Huang mounted on a horse based on the artist Han Gan, as
recorded in the inscription in black enamel on the reverse copying
a colophon by the Qianlong emperor and bearing his seals, the
recessed base bearing the four-character mark in blue enamel.
