An Ancient Egyptian Wood Cavetto Cornice Fragment. Possibly from a shrine or a piece of furniture. Consisting of four cobras, three of which have remains of discs on their heads. Ptolemaic Period, 300-32 B.C. Height 4 1/4 inches (10.9 cm.) X Width 4 1/2 inches (11.5 cm.). Provenance: From an old Belgian family collection, acquired before 1980.
