來源 1. 約翰.皮爾龐特.摩根 (1837-1913) 收藏, 收藏編號443、445 2. 美國重要私人收藏 3. 紐約蘇富比,2002 年3 月20 日,編號206 4. 懷海堂珍藏 展覽 《機暇清賞:懷海堂藏清代御窯瓷缾》,香港中文大學文物館,香港,2007年11月11日至2008年3月30日, 編號 138 此瓶撇口,細長頸,兩旁設弧形耳,溜肩碩腹,下設矮圈足。內壁罩松石綠釉,口沿描金,外壁近口沿處繪如意雲頭一周,雙耳以藍料為飾,頸肩及腹下以胭脂紅為地,繪纏枝番蓮紋,花卉上方飾蝙蝠及壽字,下方則垂吊一磬, 磬音同慶,蝠音同福,壽慶之意滿溢。腹部兩圈如意紋互相扣連形成開光,內繪通景百子龍舟圖,足牆以藍料繪回紋一周,底面施松石綠釉,底中書礬紅「大清嘉慶年製」六字三行篆書款。 本瓶巧繪百子龍舟圖,繪工精美,秀麗可喜。近處山石疊嶂層巒,遠水波浪不驚,水中波紋微晃,間以蒼松古柏,殿宇樓閣,小橋欄杆。水中有數組童子龍舟競渡圖,龍舟頭尾各站立一童子,一指揮,一鳴鑼,眾多童子於龍舟內奮力划槳。亭台樓閣內及岸邊也有童子在吶喊助威,一派歡快激烈的龍舟競渡景像,童子神態面容栩栩如生,更顯情景生動愉悅。這種百子嬉戲的畫面,乃明清兩朝流行之紋飾,寄托百子千孫之願,反映當時身份顯赫之人望子成龍、光大門戶之殷切期盼。 同類百子圖瓶可比較一例,尺寸相近,瓶頸及近足處藍地彩繪,帶「大清嘉慶年製」紅款,藏於台北故宮博物院,曾展於《嘉慶君游台灣:清仁宗文物特展》,2016年,編號III-33。再比數件飾童子嬉戲、瓶頸及近足處飾色地之例,嘉慶例可比一淺綠地瓶,售於南肯辛頓佳士得,2013年5月17日,編號1504;另一例為松綠地,售於香港邦瀚斯,2014年11月27日,編號187;另比一粉彩嬰戲圖瓶例,亦為松綠地,售於紐約蘇富比,2017年9月13日,編號32。

Ethereal Elegance: Porcelain Vases of the Imperial Qing The Huaihaitang Collection, Art Museum, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, 11 November 2007 to 30 March 2008, no. 138 The vase is potted in ovoid form rising from a short foot ring to a tall waisted neck with a trumpet shaped mouth. The neck is further flanked by a pair of small, looped handles painted with blue enamel. The mouth rim is gilt and the body is nicely enamelled around the exterior with the scene of Dragon Festival, showing the river landscape with numerous boys both watching and sailing on dragon boats, set between two bands of interlocking ruyi and formal lotus scrolls reserved on a ruby ground on the neck and around the foot. The base is inscribed with the iron-red seal mark reserved on a turquoise ground. Exquisitely decorated with a delightful scene of boys play-acting dragon boat racing, the style of the present vase was pioneered during the Qianlong period. Such vases are considered to have been produced at the imperial kilns in Jingdezhen during the early years of the Jiaqing Emperor’s reign. The excitement and joyfulness of the boys is skillfully captured in their animated expressions and poses, which are heightened by the restrained depiction of the rippling water. The depiction of 'a hundred boys at play', representing the wish for many sons, was a popular theme in the decorative arts of the Ming and Qing dynasties. The image of children engaging in activities connected with auspiciousness reveals an intense ambition among the imperial family or educated elite for their sons to achieve high intellectual status and preserve the prestige of the family. Compare a smaller vase of related form, but with a slightly broader body and flanked with loop handles, decorated with a similar scene of boys engaged in playful dragon boat racing between blue borders, also with an iron-red Jiaqing mark and of the period, in the National Palace Museum, Taipei, included in the Museum’s exhibition Lord Jiaqing and the Journey to Taiwan: A Special Exhibition on Cultural Artifacts of the Qing Emperor Renzong, 2016, cat. no. III-33. Vases decorated with the theme of boys at play, painted between coloured borders, were produced in numerous variations during the Jiaqing reign; for example see a bottle vase depicting a lively ‘hundred boys’ scene against a lime-green ground, sold at Christie’s South Kensington, 17 May 2013, lot 1504; another, but between turquoise bands, sold at Bonhams Hong Kong, 27 November 2014, lot 187; and another, but decorated with nine boys at play, also against lime-green borders, sold in Sotheby’s New York, 13 September 2017, lot 32.
