Pair Chinese cloisonne on brass Four Seasons vases, of tapering square section with trumpet necks, each side depicting a different flower symbolizing the four seasons of the year, including prunus, chrysanthemum, peony, and lotus, having no apparent marks.
Provenance: From the Estate of a North Carolina doctor.
Approximate dimensions: h. 19", sq. 6".
Loss of gilt at rims of vases, one vase with radiating hairlines in the enamel where the neck meets the body, the other with a 1/4" shallow chip to body on prunus side, both with patina to brass.
