Chinese ancestral portrait scroll, depicting the seated wife of a civil official wearing a pearl crown and red-ground dragon robe, seated in a silk-draped armchair upon a Fu lion carpet, having hanging poles and pale green silk brocade at top and bottom of the scroll.
Provenance: From the Estate of Charles Doidge Baldwin, Madison, Georgia.
Approximate dimensions: h. 70", w. 30.75".
Significant toning, (2) l. 3-5" slits in the silk and paper at the top of the scroll, creasing from having been rolled, minor scattered chips and losses to paper along right side, scattered faint brown spots flanking the face. no paint loss.
