Piccoli restauri. Buono stato di conservazione. Bellissimo studio con cavalli rampanti, visti da diverse angolazioni, montati dai loro cavalieri. Il pittore raffigura plasticamente anche un cavallo che cade a terra, mentre il cavaliere cerca di mantenere l’equilibrio. Nato a Gubbio da famiglia di pittori, Francesco fu influenzato prima dal Cavalier d'Arpino, poi da Pietro da Cortona. A Palazzo Pamphilj a Roma lavorò a fianco del Cortona, realizzando attorno al 1660 varie decorazione ad affresco. A questa produzione affiancò l'attività di pittore di battaglie e di storia, nel cui ambito si può collocare lo studio di cavalli di questo foglio. M. Nocella, Flaminio e Francesco Allegrini. ALLEGRINI, Francesco. Horses and Knights. Drawing.1624-1684 Sheet of mm. 113x184. Pen drawings, brown ink. The subjects are depicted on the front and back of the sheet. Small restorations. Good conditions. Beautiful studio with rampant horses, seen from different angles, mounted by their riders. The painter also plastically depicts a horse falling to the ground, while the rider tries to keep his balance. Born in Gubbio from a family of painters, Francesco was influenced first by Cavalier d'Arpino, then by Pietro da Cortona. At Palazzo Pamphilj in Rome he worked alongside Cortona, creating various fresco decorations around 1660. To this production he added the activity of a painter of battles and history, within which the study of horses in this sheet can be placed. M. Nocella, Flaminio and Francesco Allegrini.
