Ippolito Caffi [Attribuito a]. Veduta palustre con barca e casa. Olio su cartoncino intelato e verniciata. Pittura monocromatica. 117x160 mm. Firma poco leggibile in basso a destra. Numerato 620.
Condition Report
Oil on canvas cardboard and painted. Monochrome painting. 117x160 mm. Signature hardly legible in the lower right corner. Numbered 620. Very good condition. Night view with a full moon partially covered by clouds. Although the signature is not perfectly legible, for some traits especially vertical it reminds that of Caffi. Moreover, some peculiarities of the composition are typical of the Belluno painter's style: the reflections on the water, the clouds, the fire behind the characters on the boat that highlights the style. These characteristics can be found in some oil paintings published at international auctions, including: Venice: night view of the Pier towards the Basilica della Salute, 1850, London, Christie's, 13/12/2016; Caravan in the desert between Alessandria, 1843-1850, Rome, Christie's, 10/12/1996.
