Yakusha-e, spesso indicato come "stampa di attore", sono xilografie giapponesi di attori kabuki, in particolare quelle realizzate nello stile ukiyo-e popolare durante il periodo Edo (1603– 1867). Utagawa Kunisada, conosciuto anche come Utagawa Toyokuni III, Edo, 1786 –1865, è stato uno dei più famosi disegnatori di stampe su blocchi di legno Ukiyo-e del Giappone del XIX secolo. è stato a capo di una delle più importanti scuole di stampa xilografica giapponese, la Scuola Utagawa. Dal 1850 circa in poi quasi tutte le stampe (ma non tutte) hanno la firma racchiusa in un cartiglio Toshidama (il primo utilizzo di questa firma -sfondo giallo su cartiglio Toshidama rosso- può essere datato al 1847 su una shini-e = stampa commemorativa). Fino al 1860 la maggior parte delle stampe erano firmate solo con "Toyokuni ga" in questi cartigli, per lo più rossi ma anche gialli, blu o verdi.

Yakusha-e, often referred to as "actor prints" in English, are Japanese woodblock prints of kabuk actors, particularly those done in the ukiyo-e style popular through the Edo period (1603–1867).Utagawa Kunisada, also known as Utagawa Toyokuni III, Edo, 1786–1865, was one of the most famous Ukiyo-e woodblock print designers of 19th century Japan. He was the head of one of the most important Japanese woodblock printing schools, the Utagawa School.From around 1850 on allmost prints have the signature enclosed in a Toshidama cartouche. Just to 1860 the very most prints were only signed with "Toyokuni ga" in these cartouches, mostly red but also yellow, blue or green coloured.
