Stoutly potted Chinese porcelain fish pot of deep vessel globular body below the banded flat rim, gently waisted toward flat base. Main body decorated with hand painting in blue underglaze of hundreds butterflies among gourds abundant and leafily twines.
The immaculate porcelain body covered with a characteristic silky glaze, pooling on the base slightly veiling the mark. The glaze stopped above the foot, revealed the pale-creme unglazed ground, with the central circle base left white under glazed. Mark under the exterior rim, six blue script -KaiShu- characters, enclosed within a rectangular frame border, WanLi Reign Period of Great Ming.
