Chinese porcelain covered box is sturdily potted in a deep vessel with flori-form lobed petal rim, raised from rounded sides over wide broad cavetto. The exterior decorated by applying a variety of five-colored pigments creates bold opaque hand-painting, of blue and red dragons striding oppositely in pursuit of centralized wish-granted flaming pearls amidst colorful flames and fumes. The well and rim with conforming design, behind bold blue lines and scrolling patterned ribbon on outer rim.

Mark on receded under glazed central base, six blue script -KaiShu- characters enclosed within double fine rings, WanLi Reign Period of Great Ming.
