The belt hook is finely carved to the top in openwork and undercut with a chilong grasping a lingzhi fungus crawling towards the dragon head hook, with a circular stud on the reverse. The stone of very pale greenish-white color with a few fine splashes of russet to the upper surface. Catalogue notes: compare another 18th century belt hook sold from the Collection of Robert Hatfield Ellsworth at Christie's New York, 19 March 2015, lot 632. Condition: Appears to be in overall good condition, apart from a few nicks to the edges (the largest a tiny area to the lower edge approx. 0.2 cm.) and light surface wear to the lower surface as expected.
