The slightly tapering barrel-form teapot is decorated to one side with a poetic inscription and signed 'Er Quan'. The base with a stamped mark reading 'Youlan mizhi' which may be translated as 'secretly made by Youlan'. The flat cover is surmounted by a cylindrical finial.
