Ω A Chinese ivory sewing box, Canton, Guangdong, Qing Dynasty, circa 1850, the rectangular box finely and densely carved with a multitude of figures at leisure amongst pavilions and over hanging trees, on horseback, in boats, drinking tea, playing instruments, holding fans and in conversation, all within imitation bamboo borders, the interior fitted with a two-handled tray containing ivory sewing utensils and fittings, the base with sliding drawer, white metal handles, hinges, lock and key, 30.5cm wide x 21cm deep x 11.5cm high
