Japan. Meiji period. 2nd half of the 19th c. Ivory with beautiful, shiny golden-yellow patina. Simulating a Kagamibuta, one-part round. On the 'plate' in recessed, very finely engraved and darkened relief a Sh?j? in dancing pose with trowel on his shoulder, next to a large sake barrel. ? 4.4cm. Condition A.
