Japan. Edo period. 19th c. Bowl ivory, disc Shibuichi. The ox boy (ushid?ji) riding on his buffalo. The body of the boy made of copper, the hair in Shakud?. In his hand a staff made of silver. The horns, eyes, and rope of the ox gilt, the fur well engraved in fine kebori. ? 3.9cm. Condition A/B. The bowl made of two pieces.
