Plate 1 of a set of 12 copper-plate engravings with detailed scenes depicting the Qianlong Emperor's successful military campaign against Formosa in 1787-88. The inscriptions represent poems composed and written by the Qianlong Emperor and were added to the copper-plate engraving from wood blocks. Framed under glass.
The same engraving is in the collection of the British Museum.
