The work was created after a painting by Miró, which had originally been made in 1949 (cf. Dupin 725). A typical surrealist composition of the Spanish, it shows a dreamlike scene in an indefinite space. On the blurred background in earthy and greenish tones, Miró has depicted playful lines, which connect the schematic symbols displayed by him in bold colors. The blue dog is the center of this floating composition of faces and characters, in which the famous Miró star is not missing. The combination of painterly areas and drawn lines, as well as of muted and bright colors, creates an exciting contrast in the image.
