RARE Ming Dynasty Chinese large wine jar. The thick potted Chinese porcelain jar having bulbous body to the rounded shoulder, short neck to wide opening, with flat base. The exterior hand painted in unique FAHUA Design, of various flowers appear to be growing from the bottom of the vase beneath bands of floral bouquets enclosed within ruyi shaped cartouches. With arrays of ruyi clouds on the neck, and banded with Cresting LiShui wavy waters on the foot. The decoration motif outlined by raised and incised trails of white slip with the characteristic Fahua palette combines a selection of low fired over glazes turquoise, ink blue, amber yellow, Aubergine, purple, emerald green and white. The glaze terminated slightly before the foot rim, revealed the pale-creme ground with darker spots in the firing.
