16th Century Chinese Ming Dynasty porcelain jar is sturdily potted in ovoid shaped jar, has a tall feminine silhouette with broad shoulders and gently tapers to the foot. The jar is capped by a wooden lid. The exterior decorated in various tone and shades bright yellow under glazed of dragons amidst flames and clouds. Banded with scrolling tendril on the shoulder and cresting wavy waters ribbon on the foot. All reserved over the attractive deep-purplish-blue underglaze ground. The foot rim left unglazed revealed grayish creme-brown ground and dark spots of firing marks. The shape is uniformly proportioned. The Ming jar elegantly displayed upon a carved hardwood stand.
Mark on receded white glazed base, six blue script -KaiShu- characters, JiaJing Reign Period of Great Ming (1521-1567).
