19th Century antique extraordinary Chinese nephrite jade of covered urn in wooden box. Expertly carved in compressed baluster shape, with round central body, raised on splayed foot, wide prominent neck with domed lid and Fu dog finial. The exterior central body decorated with relief carving of geometrical archaic motif simulating the Taotie mask. Two Fu dogs surmounted on neck suspending the free ring. Adorned with splash of gilt over the surface. The art work shows masterly craftsmanship, smooth carving, gently and finely polished. Nephrite jade displays attractive deep-olive-celadon in color with attractive sporadic inclusion and calcifications, moist milky appearance. A portion of this high-grade white Jade is considered quite rare. Expert workmanship is the absolute highlight of this gorgeous vase. The jade vase is preciously displayed upon elaborately carved hardwood stand and elegantly presented inside the fitted hardwood box, with inner cushion wrapped in light-purple metallic thread silk.
